Kuruvi
The story is that of a sparrow with the strength of a hawk, who comes to rescue bonded labour.
Hero Vijay becomes a small time smuggler just to collect the money a big wig in Malaysia owed to his father. Only after going there he realizes that the big wig (Suman) is capable of much more.
Going against the villain, the hero buys more trouble. In the meantime, the villain's sister Trisha falls in love with Vijay. Getting hold of the diamond from Suman, Vijay returns to Chennai only to learn that his father and his supporters are kept as bonded labour in Andhra Pradesh. The next shot shatters the town of Cudappah itself.
After defeating hundreds of goons, the successful hero releases the bonded labourers and we also get a breather.
It is sad to see Vidyasagar composing only dabbankuthu. The consolation is just the song 'Thein, thein, thein...' Having used every other equipment, Gopinath's cinematography deserves mentioning.
Udayanidhi's money has been wasted in the sets that have no relevance to the story.
How come the hero Vijay with such a huge fan following has not changed from the masala route? Why don't you attempt to do something differently?
'Kuruvi' has lost its wings.
